soul classes

In the world of Paradise Rising, each member's character will be assigned a Soul Class. A soul class is the general color of one's soul, and in Paradise Rising, there are four: Red, Blue, Purple, Green, and Black. Which soul class you are will determine what sort of powers your character will have in-game. You will not get to pick your soul class--it will be assigned for you by the mods upon acceptance into the group. You will find out what your soul class is in-game by completing events in the first Trial.

These descriptions are just a general overview, and offer only examples of what certain characters in soul classes may be like.

red

  • Powers of Fire and Lightning; reliant on Strength

The reds are the “fiery” half-souls. Their primary power is over  fire, and their secondary power is over lightning. With their powers, they are able to manipulate flames, summon fire, provide heat in cold conditions, and even set off minor explosions. They are also often crackling with electricity and static, and can deliver minor or deadly shocks. They are themselves fireproof and heatproof. Their powers rely on a character’s Strength statistic--the more strength they have, the more powerful they are. Individuals with red souls are oftentimes seen as more hot-headed, aggressive, or energetic, and may have a temper to boot. But red souls can also be very friendly, warm, or loving personalities.

blue

  • Powers of Water and Poison; reliant on Charisma

The blues are the water souls. Their primary power is over water, and their secondary power is over poison. With their powers, they are able to move water, manipulate it, transform it into shapes and deadly water-whips, and swim exceedingly well. They are also able to summon poison--either liquid or gaseous--that can either harm or kill another creature, depending on how powerful the soul. Their powers rely on a character’s Charisma statistic--the more charisma they have, the more powerful they are. Individuals with blue souls are oftentimes seen as diplomats. They are cool under pressure, and have a great ability to talk to others, but sometimes can be more shy and secluded. Overall, they tend to exhibit more of a calm demeanor.

Purple

  • Powers of Ice and Telekinesis; reliant on Intelligence

The purples are the icy half-souls. Their primary power is over ice, and their secondary power is telekenisis. With their powers, they are able to summon ice, freeze things, inflict frostbite, cool the temperature of their surroundings, and create sharp weapons from shards of ice. They are unbothered by freezing temperatures. They are also able to move things with their mind--the size and complexity of such things determined by how powerful of a soul they are. Their powers rely on a character’s Intelligence statistic--the more intelligent they have, the more powerful they are. Individuals with purple souls are usually known for their smarts, though not all purple souls are this way. They can have complex or cold personalities, and are sometimes known to be hard to read.

black

  • Powers of Shadow and Invisibility; reliant on Speed

The black souls are the mysterious ones. Their primary power is over shadows, and their secondary power is invisibility. With their powers, they are able to control shadows, create shadow beings and monsters, use shadows as a physical weapon, or even make shadow replicas of themselves. They are also able to use their invisibility powers to completely disappear from view. Their powers rely on a character’s Speed statistic--the more speed they have, the more powerful they are. Individuals with black souls are oftentimes seen as mysterious, dark, or in some cases, untrustworthy or dangerous. Sometimes black souls can have a temper, or even an aura about them that makes others uncomfortable, but many black souls are perfectly hardworking, civil, and and trustworthy.

green

  • Powers of Air and Healing; reliant on Stamina

The greens are the air-souls. Their primary power is over air and wind, and their secondary power is an ability to heal. With their powers, they are able to summon gusts of wind, sharpen air currents into weapons, and even float or fly. They are also the healer-souls, and are able to mend physical wounds and ailments on themselves and others. Their powers rely on a character’s Stamina statistic--the more stamina they have, the more powerful they are. Individuals with green souls are oftentimes seen as sweet and selfless. They often have a caring disposition, and are the first to offer assistance. They can also be more playful and carefree. However, some green souls may garner a bad reputation as being airheaded or meek.

soul powers

Each soul class also has specific limitations, restrictions, and side effects relating to their power based on your character's level. We will talk about how your cat can level up in the next section, but for now, we've created a handy spreadsheet that outlines exactly what powers your cat has at each level, and how those powers affect the character.

As a note for season 1 characters, soul class side effects are no longer felt after a soul has been linked, either with a partner or a soulstone. We will release more information about this when it will become relevant to the season 2 players.

You can cycle through the soul classes by clicking the tabs at the bottom. Confused about the section on alignments and level 6? Don't worry, that will be explained soon!
